Stearnes Breaks Out
In the 3 Spanish Harlem games during Sim 7A so far, Stearnes is batting .462 with 4 HR and 14 RBI.
Game 1: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 R, 4 RBI
Game 2: 2-5, 2 HR, 2 R, 7 RBI
Game 3: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 R, 3 RBI, 1 2B
I guess the bad press lit a fire in his belly; let's hope he isn't Bump Bailey.*
*For what it's worth, my daughters (12 and 9) recently watched The Natural and loved it. They are also big fans of Hoosiers. Proud Daddy! (Although they also love Australian TV shows about Mermaids too, I'll take what I can get).

Checking In on the New Pitchers
Owners have fared a bit better when it comes to selecting new pitchers. First, by measure of RSAA,
here are the new pitchers in a starting role.
Remember, RSAA takes into account the league each partakes in, and the AL remains a offense friendly league at the metric adjusts. Jake Arrieta (ANK) and Chris Sale (WPO) are legitimate starters at this point. Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw (LAK) looks solid at 10-3, but actually has a slightly below average ERA and RCERA.
Here are those with a pace of about 40+ innings this year. This version of Aroldis Chapman (JFC) looks to be an improvement over the last one.
And the part timers.

Has the ATB owner community finally run out of new batter ideas? It appears so, as this seasons crop is leaving a lot to be desired. No new batter is a full time role for the full season and just 5 have amassed over 175 plate appearances.
I am not sure Tim Raines (CHA) is a legitimate 9th rounder, but he is at least worthy of a roster spot.
I doubt any owner would miss any of these players between 50-174 plate appearances:
Finally, here are those with hardly any playing time. Only Heinie Reitz (SPA) holds some promise:
