What a night for Garland Braxton. The ace of the Manetheren Red Eagles has struggled at times this year, giving up 4 runs or more in 8 of his 12 starts. Tonight he had his best stuff and put a hurtin' on the "Mechanics" of Willets Point.
After yielding a lead-off infield single to the first batter of the game, on a 1-2 pitch to Pete Hill, Braxton induced a double play from the big bat of Dan Brouthers. That was literally all for Willets Point - no other batter would reach base and Braxton would end oh-so-close to perfection.
His final line:
9 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, and a paltry 80 pitches. He only reached a count with 3 balls once.
The Red Eagles won going away in a 5-run, 13 hit affair
Only 2 strikeouts though, game score below 90! Ha!
