#14 – Island Creek Bivalves
Owner: Jeff B
Activity Level: Low
Park Factor: Batters
The Bivalves finished the regular season on the cusp of playoff contention. Had the resims followed the model of the ‘real’ season and 83 wins were good enough for a Bonus Wild Card berth, this team would have been playoff bound four times. In the resims however, play was a bit better and they went to the post season just once, thanks to fine 87 win season. We’re just now beginning to see quality seasons emerge, and Island creek had a positive RD five times.
With just about an average offense, their main issue was run prevention. Ranked 15th, their bullpen was solid but they drafted three mediocre pitchers in Rounds 1-10 and never quite recovered.
One oddity I did notice and had to share – how does one average a 3.78 in over 1200 innings with a WHIP of 1.68. That’s exactly what closer Tom Henke managed: 61 IP, 72 H, 31 BB.
