With Fred Dunlap (Beau Brummels) slumping and recovering from injury, the AL selection for the second base all star representative is a 3 or 4 horse race. Buddy Meyer (Brews) is knocking the cover off of 3 balls a game, but only has 174 plate appearances thanks to a strict platoon. Joe Morgan (Ball Four) is doing everything better than average but no single stat screams All Star. Hate to say it, but Meyer may have the lead.
National League
There are four great NL second basemen, but none are particularly close to Ross Barnes of the DC Chips. Barnes leads all major offensive categories (and by a wide margin for many) except home runs. The "worst" of these four would get the nod as starter in the AL.
