Dan Haren (Rd 5)- 8-8, 3.66 ERA, 150 IP, 149 H, 44 BB, 90 K
Luke Appling (Rd 15) - .299 / .362 / .321, 6 2B, 27 R, 31 RBI
Ken Singleton (Rd 14) - .350 / .430 / .487, 18 R, 18 RBI in 117 AB
Here is another trade that will undoubtedly cause much discussion.
The pessimistic view: Chatanooga traded the second best pitcher in baseball for a league average pitcher, slap hitting infielder and a back up outfielder.
The other side: Chatanooga has to do something to kickstart their 30-58 team, and trading their underpforming start for three players who can step in to strarting roles immediately.
As always, please be civil in the comments
I kept Pedro last year on a truly bad hitting team in a real bad hitters park .It was fun watching him lose games 1-0. 3-2 2-1 woof and interesting trade .Maybe da Brews will not have the worst record this year !!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a very lopsided trade!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf people want to improve their team, why don't they post their offers before finalizing the deal?
Maddox is worth a lost more than what was received back.
Some of the recent trades (including this one) seem like "buddy" deals (even if they are not).
I would have offered a lot more for Maddox.
These lopsided deals are tipping the balance in the league and taking a lot of the fun out of it.
Miners
Pretty ugly deal.
ReplyDeleteThe four position guys are throw-ins.
This is essentially Maddux for Haren, which is obviously bad, no matter what Maddux's record this year.

I knew it was the undisclosed cash that made the deal . That Tennessee team is cash poor :-))
