I need to say a few words here as some folks will question the fairness of this trade. On one hand, this is a 1st round draft pick being traded for a #5 starter and a platooning DH. That's fine, it is a legitimate point of view.
On the other hand, players have awful years all the time and who is to say Stearnes will turn it around. Additionaly, Perez is a new player year, and who is to say he isn't really this good. Hamilton will obviously come back down to earth, but he is a legit starter batter. Additionally, both owners are veterans and understand DMB and ATB.
So, feel free to talk about this in the comments, but keep it civil. Non constructive comments will be deleted, there is plenty of value for both sides on this one so please do not bring up unfairness or veto process.
Wow just hand Justin the title now. Turkey is just the person he needed to win it all. -Sean
ReplyDeleteOuch....
ReplyDeleteThe trade seems very unbalanced from my viewpoint.
Prior to ATB 17,Stearnes has avg draft round = 1 compared to Hamilton's =15.
This year Stearnes went in 1st and Hamilton went in 13th.
Stearnes avg 7.2 RC27 in ATB vs 4.2 RC27 for Hamilton.
By my calculation, a difference of 3 RC27, means Stearnes is worth 6 more wins for his team compared to Hamilton.
And I'd take Bonham (17th round pick in ATB 17) over Perez (22 round)anytime.
