I don't have a way to confirm this, but I believe the ATB 15 MVP race was the closest race for an MVP in our league history. Turkey Stearnes narrowly defeated Ted Williams by 2 first place votes. Both were left off 3 ballots and had competition from Babe Ruth, named on 12 ballots, as well.
If Ruth had won it would have been reminiscent of Carlton winning the NL CYA in '72.
