Getting Things Started

Welcome Back!  Wanted to share a few items while we wait for two more owners, bringing our total to 24, and cap it there.

A lot has changed, there is a new version of DMB which we are using now.  The downside is the resim capability is no longer automated.  Previously, there was user created macro that worked with older versions of DMB, but sadly this has not been updated for the current software.  We relied heavily on resim data, and this needs to change.

To level the playing field so to speak, and to prevent a handful of nerds who may have held on to reams of old data, I am going to reset the DMB "era" to that of 1906 National League.  This is a thinly veiled attempt to finally give 3-Finger Brown the notoriety he deserves in this league.

In practice, this made only a little difference, across the 5 sims here were the average seasonal leaders:

  • .342 AVG
  • .484 OBP
  • 1.106 OPS
  • 50 2B
  • 30 3B
  • 54 HR
  • Lg Avg Slash (.259 / .316 / .394)
  • 17 W
  • 2.39 ERA
  • 0.93 WHIP
  • 217 K
  • Lg Avg: 3.83 ERA, 1.33 WHIP
Generally, less power and more batting average.

The compiled results are here (called Weak Resim Data).  Please remember, 5 seasons really isn't enough to draw specific and detailed conclusions, so use this file wisely.  This should give you something to chew on while i recreate the draft board and grab 2 more owners.

I figure:

  • 30 round live draft
  • 6 divisions of four teams each, no inter-league play, 162 game schedule
  • Weekly lineups except for injury substitutions.
  • I hope to start next week.
