Hughson outduels Shantz 3-1; Game 7 Tomorrow Night

A string of 7 singles in 11 batters sank an otherwise good performance from Bobby Shantz, enabling the Gossamers to come back from a 3-1 series deficit to force a Game 7 tomorrow night.  Tex Hughson was on cruise control, tossing 8 innings of 5 hit, 1 run ball.

The Hoplites lone run came in the 6th off an Arky Vaughan 2-out single.  The entire Hoplite offense managed just five hits and two walks all game.  Aside from the 6th, runners reached second twice.

The Hoplites Game 7 will be John Denny (7-7, 3.41).  He'll face either Preacher Roe (11-12, 3.33) or Ferguson Jenkins (11-11, 3.98)
