Great Feats - 4D (and the Joe D Watch)

5/30 - Bobby Murcer (PR) goes 5-5
5/31 - Luis Tiant records an 88 GS - 9 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 9 K, Win

The Joe D Watch
Ho hum, another three games, another 4 hits, a homer, and 5 RBI. While the counting stats look good however, DiMaggio did have to work to extend his hitting streak to 24 games.

In the first game of Sim 4D he grounded out in the second, lined out in the 4th, and struck out in the 6th. In a tie game, he led off the 9th and grounded weakly to the mound and his hit streak could have ended at any time. In the 11th he struck out again, and the Llama faithful must have lost hope. However, with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the Top of the 13th, not only did DiMaggio extended his hitting streak, he thoght he won the game with a 2-run double. Alas, the great DC team scored 3 in the bottom half of the inning to ultimately win the contest.

In Game 2, DiMaggio went 2-5 with a HR picking up his first hit of the night in the 6th.

In Game 3, he went just 1-4, obtaining a single in the 6th to keep the streak alive.
