LCS Game 5: Blowout: DC heads to the World Series with 11-1 win

Despite just about as many hits, the Gossamer's scored just 1 run against the Chips 11 and DC heads to the show with 4-1 series win.

Gossamer star pitcher Pedro Martinez was shelled, leaving the game with 1-out in second after giving up 6 earned runs. After recording his first out, Martinez yielded 4 consecutive singles followed by two walks. With three runs in, the Gossamer's turned to their pen, but Arthur Rhodes surrendered a two run double to Ty Cobb and a sac fly to Willie Mays. When the dust settle 6 runs had scored and the game was virtually over.

Lefty Grove and the DC pen allowed plenty of runners to reach the bases, but recorded the key outs when they needed to stranding 12 on base.

DC moves on and will face the winner of the Newark-Kakadu series in the world series.
