Quick Divisional Roundups

National League
Contenders: Helena Handbasket and Willets Point Mechanics
Pretenders: Newark Slam Dumps, Londonderry Machine, Planet 10
Dead: Texas Gringos

Helena's woes of a week ago appear to a thing of the past, but their 9 game losing streak opened the door for the Mechanics to make a run at the division title. Both teams are tied atop the division at 69-49, the second best record in ATB.

Behind these leaders, three squads are within striking distance of third place, if not the wild card. The best of them, and by a good margin, are the the Slam Dumps. 7.5 games out the playoffs, the Slam Dumps own a +63 Run Differential, third best in the league and nearly 4 times better than Willets Point. If one were to bet on a late season run, it would be with this team.

The Machine are currently 8 games out if the playoffs, but have played well of late winning 18 of their last 29 contests. Planet 10 are 9.5 games out but fading fast.

Federal League
Contenders: Big Dan and the Lady's, Kakadu Didgeridoos, Hathsin Survivors
Pretenders: Island Creek Bivalves
Dead: Bridgewater Brazen Beanballers, Nottingham Outlaws

The class of the division are the Lady's. Despite a 7-week funk to start the season, the Lady's had a great June and July to take the division lead. They now own a 6.5 game lead over Hathsin and Kakudu, their most comfortable one of the year.

Kakadu seemed to take advantage of Hathsin's lackluster July, but coughed up all their gains with an 8 game losing streak that has to yet to end. These two teams are poised to fight it out for the wild card, while the Lady's work towards a division crown.

The Bivalves almost caught the Survivors in the third week of July, jarring their way to a game out of third place. They've endured a tough few weeks since however, and sit 4.5 games out of the Wild Card in 4th place.

National League
Contenders: Gold Country Gossamers, DC Chips, Otherton Fish Biscuits, Rusty Kuntz Traveling All Stars, John McDonald Fanclub
Pretenders: None
Dead: Downsouth Brews

This is some division, at least in terms of late season excitement. The Gossamers are widely regarded as the best team in ATB thanks to a league leading 75-42 record and a +143 run differential. With a 12.5 game lead on the division their playoff birth is all but guaranteed.

This leaves DC, Otherton, Rusty, and John McDonald to fight it out for a lone wild card birth. DC and Otherton are tied at 63-55 but Rusty is just 2.5 back and John McDonald 5.5 back.

Three of the teams are hitting their strides too. John McDonald is 22-8 in the past month; DC 19-11; and Otherton is riding a 7 game winning streak. Rusty Kuntz blinked however, and are in the midst of a 5 game losing streak and have lost 16 of 29.
