Day 2

Despite an abridged slate of games, day 2 was just as exciting as day 1, featuring an 18 inning game and a 7 RBI day.

American League

  • Jason Giambi doubles twice and Camillo Pascual was very effective, leading Dharma to a 4-3 win over Spanish Harlem.  The Pinata Beaters drop to 0-2 on the season.
  • In spite of some awful pitching on both squads, Helena pulls through with a 9-6 win over Denver.  Stan Musial was awesome, driving in 7 thanks to a 3 run triple and two additional run scoring singles.
  • Willets Point overcame a rocky start from Brett Saberhagen, besting Brooklyn 9-7, in large part due to a 5 run 5th that featured five singles and two stolen bases.  Willets Point is 2-0 on the season.
  • Ankhana picks up their second 1-run victory in as many days, narrowly escaping Hudson 7-6.  Lou Gehrig capped a 4 run 8th with his first home run of the season, a 3 run bomb to give the Adventurers the lead.
  • Dave Brown looks good and George Brett has a 3 hit day helping New Orleans defeat Rochester 4-2.
National League
  • 3 runs total in 18 innings!  The Guardians bullpen is masterful, holding Chatanooga to just 9 hits over the final 12 innings.  Willie Keeper led off the 18th with a double and Albert Pujols drove him home 1-out later with a game winning single.
  • After a 4-2 Blauser victory, Jeff City moves to 2-0 and Sparta to 0-2   Red Lucas picked up the win out of the pen.
  • Flin Flon is looking good, coasting past Shamokin 8-1.  The Arctic Foxes have given up just 2 runs on the season.  Starter Bucky Walters helped his cause driving in three with a sacrifice fly and two groundouts.
