If run differential has any meaning in the world of DMB, the
2 vs 7 contest between the ATB Carnies and the LOB Storm will be the premier
match-up of the first round. The Carnies
were ATB’s best regular season team, winning 104 games and outscoring their
opponents by 147 runs. The Storm were
swept in the LOB League Championship Series, but not before solidifying
themselves as an LOB powerhouse in their own right. They also led the league in both wins (96) and
Run Differential (+143).
In Game 1, the Carnies will send their ace Danny Haren
(13-6, 2.60) to face Bill Foster (20-11, 2.41) in what promises to be a marquee
pitcher’s duel. After that, the Carnies
will employ a 4 man rotation with Curt Schilling (19-9, 3.34), Jason Schmidt
(13-9, 3.06) , and Jerry Reuss (15-6, 3.45) rounding out the rotation. The Storm have announced their intention to
use just three starters, and will send Montgomery Ward (17-8, 3.23) and Roger
Clemens (6-5, 4.40) in games 2 and 3.
