Sparta Hoplites @ Lancaster Red Roses
The heart of the Red Roses order doubled, tripled, and homer twice while driving in 10 of the 12 Lancaster runs. Oscar Charleston was at his best with 2 hits and a 4 RBI, including a 3rd inning home run and two stolen bases in the 7th. Hoplite starter Kevin Brown was bounced from the game in the third after giving up runs in 2+ innings of work.
Johan Santana was solid for Lancaster, pitching well into the 8th giving up just 6 hits and 2 runs. Arky Vaughan's 2-run homer in the 6th was the Hoplite line bright spot.
