  1. Please don't give away Rochester's Newhouser to some other team!

  2. what makes a player great one year in ATB and suck the next? Why is Randy Johnson so bad this year?

  3. I don't know if there is a really good answer to this. First though, Johnson sucks because he is in a 3-man rotation and not getting enough rest. Is perennially a Top 10 if not Top 5 pitcher.

But otherwise, they say the game is trying to mimic real life. Most players have huge real life fluctuations too, at least outside of Albert Pujols.

And for the game itself - parks change year to year, who the player faces changes from year to year, and how the computer decides who gets the best of an RJ vs Ruth matchup is beyond me.

I have always had it in my head that a players OPS for instance, could fluctuate 100 points. A 750 OPS guy could easily end up in the .600s
