Reed Out as Freakin Franchise Closer

With a record of 17-11 and in first place, conventional wisdom would hold most teams in place and prevent managers from making drastic moves. Not so in Bellevue. The Freakin' Franchise announced today the closer Steve Reed is moving to backup long relief and back up setup man roles. Reed has blown a few saves already this year, but his line is solid: 12.7 IP, 10 H, 9 K.

Taking over for Reed is Armando Benitez who has been spectacular - 9.7 IP, 7 H, 14 K, 0.93 ERA - but a bit lucky. His RCERA is really 3.06 mostly due to the 6 walks given up.

Last season Benetiz had a 3.08 ERA in 50 IP and Reed was the top reliever iun the game according to RSAA - 1.34 ERA in 80 IP.
