Papelbon Out Too!

Last season, Jonathan Papelbon recorded 34 saves with a 1.74 ERA, and yielded just 55 hits in 77.7 innings pitched. This year, the Cincinnati Redleg closer has struggled in his 7 appearances, allowing 15 base runners in 9 innings and recording a 5.00 ERA.

At 13-15 and 4 games out of 1st place, the Redlegs are out of patience and Pap's is out as the team's closer, at least for now. Taking over is Willie Hernandez and his 2.70 ERA. Hernandez, however, may not be a marked improvement. While his ERA is solid he too has given up a lot of baserunners - 13.1 IP, 16 H, and 4 BB.
