Death Speakers defeats Puff 8-5

Frank Bakers error in the top of the 7th led to 3 runs, capped by a King Kelly 2 run single. This extended the Death Speaker lead to 8-3, giving them the insurance runs they would need to take a 2-1 series lead.

Fanclub defeats Oathbinders 9-8 (16 innings)
It took 44 players, 35 hits, and 26 left on base, but in the end John McDonald picked up their first win of the season. Both starters well shelled and two 16th inning errors by shortstop Jack Glasscock and center fielder Ken Griffey Jr, set the stage for Lou Boudreau's game winning single.

- Neither team scored between the 9th and 15th innings

Handbasket defeat Black Diamonds 5-0

Without Barry Bonds in the lineup, Larry Dierker dominated Sonoran tossing a 3 hit shutout. On offense, both Mickey Mantle and Buck Leonard collected 3 hits, slammed a home run, and drove in 2.

- Eddie Collins (HH) went 2-4

Special Sauce defeats Chips 6-5

Joe Jackson drilled a 1-2 fastball deep over the right field wall for a walk off 3-run home run, giving the underdog Big Mac a 2-1 series lead. Reliever Mike Jackson walked two batters in the ninth, setting up the fateful home run.

One does have to question DC's choice for starting reliever Nick Maddox. Maddox had pitched the 21 pitches the previous game, though was working off of a full days rest.
