Resim Power Alley - #7, Big Mac Special Sauce

#7 – Big Mac Special Sauce
Owner: Mike T

Thanks to a potent offense built around the long ball, the Special Sauce franchise recording 14 winning seasons and were playoff bound 15 times. Mark McGwire, Willie Stargell, and Reggie Jackson combined for 138 home runs. Mike Tiernan (.774 OPS) was also a solid player, and with several low OBP power guys, his .384 mark was of great use.

The main area keeping the Special Sauce from a higher ranking was their pitching staff. Outside of Randy Johnson, their average starters ERA was 4.56. Interestingly, the top 4 most used relievers combined for an ERA of 4.42 and the next four most used combined for an ERA of 3.44. Obviously, this suggests a non optimal usage pattern.

Lastly, in Sim 1 the Sauce scored 962 runs; in sim 3 the gave up just 686 for a whopping RD of +276. That equates to a sweet 113 Max Win potential.
