Otherton manager Phillip Wellman bypassed Juan Marichal for a game 5 start in favor of long reliever Ferdie Schupp.  Schupp struggled from the get-go and left the game in third having given up 2 runs.

Still, with a 4-run outburst in the fourth, the Biscuits had a chance to win it but reliever Danny Darwin, who relieved Schupp,  fared similarly, giving up four runs over 3 innings.

Lou Gehrig was a 1-man wrecking crew, drilling home runs in the third and fifth, driving in 5 for the win.

Game 5 heads back to Brighton tomorrow night, where Bill Bernhard (18-17, 3.29) is scheduled to take on Silver King (18-5, 2.89)

Starters
Dizzy Dean (BS) - 4.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Ferdie Schupp (OFB) - 2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
