In the end it was an 8-1 blowout with Ed Siever dominating Miner batters for the win, but watching the game live it was a close game until the 7th.  There, doubles by Wade Boggs, Oscar Charleston, and King Kelly broke the game open, giving Spanish Harlem an 8-1 lead they would not relinquish.  Boggs had a great game, homering in the second, and going 3-3 on the night, with 3 RBI and 3 Runs Scored.

Miner starter Siever was on his game, scattering 5 hits and striking out 5 on the night.  He completed the game efficiently with just 106 pitches.

Ed Siever (SPB) - 9.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Fergie Jenkins (SM) - 4.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
