Down 9-5 in 9th, Javy Lopez 2- run home run caps improbable comeback

Game 1 (Finals)
Borischtown Brawlers @ Clover Bottom Barnstormers

You had to witness it to believe it.  Trailing by 5 in the 8th the Borischtown Brawlers scored 7 runs in two innings, winning Game 1 by a final score off 11-10.

The Clover Bottom Barnstormers jumped all over Henry Boyle early, scoring 4 in the first and 3 in the fourth and had the game in hand at 7-3, the main blow a Duke Snider Grand Slam.  The Brawlers cut to the lead to 7-4, but once again fell far behind 9-4 thanks to a Joe Jackson 2-run single in the 7th.

In the 8th, a timely single by Bill Dickey cut the lead to 4 and finally in the ninth, the Brawler offense came alive.  You have to read the scoresheet to get the full effect, but with one out the Brawlers:  singled, walked, tripled, singled, stole second, singled, singled, then Javy Lopez homered.  6 runs and they had an 11-9 lead.

The Barnstormers tried to come back in the bottom of the 9th, scoring 1 on a ground out, but Snider couldn't bring the heroics twice, striking out swinging with the tying run on second.
