Podres 3-hits Storm; Barnstormers offense bangs out 16 hits for 6-1 victory

Clover Bottom Barnstormers @ Stoughton Storm


Few wins  could have been more satisfying for the Clover Bottom Barnstomers.  Their starter Johnny Podres was brilliant, 3-hitting the Stoughton Storm tossing a complete game, striking out 6.  Their offense was at it's peak, banging out 16 hits, scoring runs in 5 different innings en route to a 6-1 easy victory.

Joe Jackson recorded 4 hits in 5 chances and the 7th and 8th hitters Don Mattingly and Donnie Bush each collected 3 hits of their own.  In all, a different batter drove in each of the Barnstormers 6 runs.

Game 5 is tomorrow night where Fergie Jenkins will try and right the Storm ship facing off against Roger Clemens.
